'Now Wash Your Hands' was recorded principally in the old GDR broadcasting building in what was once East Berlin. It features 10 mostly acoustic songs, with contributions by members of Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop - a Berlin based contemporary chamber orchestra - and also Johny Lamb of Thirty Pounds Of Bone. German songwriter Fee Reega, and Stefanie from the seven piece girl band Vivian Void also sing on several songs.

'Now Wash Your Hands' is released in an initial edition of 200 numbered copies. Each cover is hand stamped one letter at a time and then fingerprinted by the artist. A full colour photo is mounted onto card inside, the cds are hand stamped and a lyric sheet and surprise item are also included in the package.

'Countrysides unfurl amongst heart-wrung fireside conversations with a force of words that suggests Burch lives a common life, but one that is deeply felt. A minstrel and a storyteller, his songs ripple and lilt along with a beautiful variety of folk cadences, here and there touched up by strings and trumpet'
