Elspeth Anne writes and performs music that combines elements of weird folk, punk and dark Outsider pop. Her lyrical songs are miniature explorations into understanding life; ranging from eerie and unsettling to frenetic and joyful, delivered with honesty and dark humour.
Hailing from the borderlands of Mid Wales, she has been gigging and recording in various band and solo (dis)guises since 2005, playing venues and festivals around the UK and Europe.
'Elspeth's songs...have all the charm and creak of a Jan Svankmajer animation, all twigs and cloth puppets.' (Owain Paciuszko, God is in the TV Zine)
'She is a walking, talking contradiction, of jangly versus tuneful, mellow versus spikey, and waiflike versus all singing mama who plays her guitar like a demon.' (Umbrella Factory’s Ally Hardy)
